Camden, NJ – The Camden Riversharks (26-35, 50-81) defeated the Somerset Patriots (40-21, 86-45) 2-1 Friday evening from Campbell’s Field in the series opener.
In the bottom of the first inning Camden plated a pair of runs to take an early 2-0 advantage. First baseman Delwyn Young poked a RBI single and third baseman D’Angelo Jimenez drew a bases loaded walk.

Right fielder Jorge Cortes slapped a RBI double in the top of the second inning as Somerset cut the deficit in half making the score 2-1 which would be the final.

Miguel Martinez (5-6) earned the win tossing an eight inning gem. Josh Lowey (13-8) suffered the loss as he tossed six innings allowing no earned runs. Adrian Martin (23) notched the save.
