During the pursuit, officers learned the vehicle had been involved in prior eluding incidents in New Providence and Watchung.

It was also determined that the driver, Ahmad Wallace, 21, of Raritan, had two outstanding warrants for second-degree eluding.

The chase continued through borough streets for about five minutes before the vehicle stopped on Del Rocco Court within the Stonebridge Apartment Complex, said Fisher.

Wallace got out of the car and was taken into custody without further incident.

Wallace has been charged with second-degree eluding and was remanded to the Somerset County Jail pending a Superior Court detention hearing.
