Car Parked On Dry Leaves Ignites In Flames In Branchburg

North Branch Volunteer Firefighters helped to extinguish the fire that spread to a second vehicle on Saturday.

BRANCHBURG, NJ — A car parked on a pile of dry leaves ignited into flames on Saturday before spreading to a second vehicle.

North Branch Volunteer Fire Company was called out to two vehicles on fire just before 4 p.m. on Nov. 9 on Carol Jean Way near Libby Lane in Branchburg.

"There is no official cause for the fire. Our speculation is that they parked on the dry leaves, but that is not confirmed, said North Branch Fire Chief Dan Russoniello.

There were no reported injuries.

The North Branch Volunteer Fire Company is a 100 percent volunteer fire department servicing the North Branch Section of Branchburg and Bridgewater.
