Cars Left Unlocked, Running Stolen In Bridgewater

Bridgewater Police also reported a number of people charged with DWI and shoplifting over the past month.

BRIDGEWATER, NJ — Bridgewater Police reported multiple cars stolen or burglarized and a number of people charged for DWI and shoplifting over the past month.

Bridgewater Police Blotter:

On Feb. 27: Someone stole a motor vehicle from the driveway of a residence on Clark Court. The victim had left the keys in the vehicle and the vehicle was left unlocked.

On Feb. 27 at around 9:48 a.m.: A resident of Woodside Lane reported their vehicle had been burglarized. The victim advised that their vehicle had been parked in their driveway and was unlocked. Someone entered the vehicle and removed an iPhone charging cable and a pair of sunglasses.

On Feb. 25 at around 7:55 p.m.: Richard Kraft, 76, of Somerville, was involved in a motor vehicle crash on East Main Street. During the investigation, Kraft was discovered to be under the influence of alcohol. He was arrested for DWI. He was issued the following summonses: DWI and careless driving. He was released with a pending municipal court appearance.

On Feb. 24 at about 4:30 a.m.: Michael Sasso, 58, of Bridgewater, was involved in a motor vehicle crash on Stapleton Court. During the investigation, Sasso was discovered to be under the influence of alcohol. He was arrested for DWI. He was issued the following summonses: DWI, reckless driving, uninsured motor vehicle and refusal to provide a breath sample. He was released with a pending municipal court appearance

On Feb. 22: A resident of Dilts Lane reported the theft of the catalytic converter from his vehicle.

On Feb. 19 at about 6:25 p.m.: Someone stole a motor vehicle from the parking lot of AA Yankis Tires and Auto Repair at 45 Finderne Ave. The victim had left his vehicle unlocked and running in the parking lot in order to warm the vehicle up.

On Feb. 19 at 6:49 p.m.: A 23-year-old woman of Somerset was arrested for shoplifting at Target, at 200 Promenade Boulevard. She used a self-checkout register and under rang several items to deprive the store of $159.12. A complaint summons was completed and she was released with a pending court appearance.

On Feb. 18 at 8:29 p.m.: Melissa Stani, 45, of Bridgewater, was arrested for shoplifting at Target, at 200 Promenade Blvd. Stani stole store merchandise valued at $837.70. A complaint summons was completed and Stani was released with a pending court appearance.

On Feb. 18 at about 12:21 p.m.: Laura Addison, 61, of Bridgewater, was arrested for theft of cash from the Home Depot at 400 Promenade Blvd. Addison was an employee of Home Depot and over several days she removed $476.54 from the register. Addison was issued a complaint summons and released with a pending court appearance.

On Feb. 13 at about 7:40 p.m.: Jesus Ferrer-Ventura, 26, and Santiago Cammargo-Ventura, 22, both of Elizabeth, were arrested for shoplifting at Target at 200 Promenade Blvd. Ferrer-Ventura and Cammargo-Ventura placed $1,361.59 worth of various merchandise into a shopping cart and exited the store without paying. Ferrer-Ventura then re-entered the store placed $387.05 worth of various merchandise into a shopping cart and exited the store without paying. Complaint summonses were completed and both subjects were released with a pending court appearance.

On Feb. 9 at 6:39 a.m.: A resident of Roger Avenue reported a burglary to her unlocked vehicle. Someone took the victim's wallet from the vehicle.

On Feb. 8 at about 7:15 p.m.: Someone stole a motor vehicle from the parking lot of Panchero's, at 715 Promenade Blvd. The victim had left his vehicle unlocked and running while he entered the store to retrieve his order. Later that evening, the stolen vehicle was recovered unoccupied in the parking lot of Wawa at 580 Union Ave.

On Feb. 4 at around 2 a.m.: Juan Camilo Saavedre-Mora, 20, of Springfield, was involved in a motor vehicle crash on Chimney Rock Road. During the investigation, Saavedre-Mora was discovered to be under the influence of alcohol. He was arrested for DWI. He was issued the following summonses: DWI, careless driving, failure to exhibit proof of insurance, and open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle. He was released with a pending municipal court appearance.

On Feb. 2 at 7:47 p.m.: A resident of Raritan Borough reported that someone burglarized their unlocked vehicle while it was parked at the Gold's Gym at 462 Route 28. Someone removed the victim's wallet from the vehicle.

On Jan. 30 at 7:04 p.m.: A 27-year-old woman of Bridgewater was arrested for DWI after being found unresponsive in a vehicle on the shoulder of Route 22 eastbound. Mugavero was issued the following summonses: DWI, reckless driving and careless driving. She was released with a pending court appearance.
