Chick-Fil-A Looks To Open New Location Off Route 202 In Bridgewater

This would be the fast-food chain's second Somerset County location.

BRIDGEWATER, NJ — Chick-Fil-A is looking to expand its Somerset County presence.

The fast-food chain has submitted an application before the Bridgewater Township Planning Board in hopes of opening its second Somerset County location.

Chick-Fil-A is proposing to open at the long-vacant former Ruby Tuesday location at the Bridgewater Towne Center off Route 202. Ruby Tuesday abruptly closed in August 2018 following financial issues.

The application before the Planning Board calls proposes to demolish the existing one-story masonry building within the shopping center and construct a new standalone 4,989-square-footChick-fil-A restaurant with a drive-thru with 29 queuing spaces. There would also be 43 parking spaces including one for electric vehicles.

The Planning Board is scheduled to hear the application at its Oct. 15 meeting at 7 p.m. at the Bridgewater Municipal Building, 100 Commons Way, Bridgewater.

The other Somerset County Chick-fil-A restaurant is located off Route 22 in Watchung. The closest location to the proposed Bridgewater location is in Flemington.
