September 17th, Somerset County’s Commission on the Status of Women presents their second personal development webinar. The theme is “Dollars & Sense,” focusing ways to rebuild after COVID. The commission’s goal is to foster a message of forward thinking, hoping to empower women to begin planning ways to move past the trauma and hardship of these trying times. Not only from a professional, career, and financial standpoint, but from a mental and emotional standpoint as well.

Mental & Emotional Health – Kelly Farrow, Creator & Principal at Circle of Sacred Fire, and Pillar College Professor, will discuss ways individuals can begin to move forward after this difficult time. Minister Farrow will help our community make sense of where we are today and grab a hold of how we can begin to prepare for tomorrow. She’ll be walking the audience through ways to rebuild success in their personal lives.
COVID & Careers – Jheryn Kenney, Enterprise Sales & Digital Transformation Strategist at LinkedIn, will highlight career strategies that can help people learn how to navigate effetely in a virtual world. Jheryn will be providing tips and techniques on rebuilding your career after having been laid off, furloughed, or demoted.

County Resources – Sara Sooy, Freeholder Deputy Director, Somerset County, will review the financial resources and programs offered by the county. Often times, there are many resources and grants available to the community, but people don’t know about them. Deputy Director Sooy will be highlighting assistance programs, available resources, and opportunities available for business owners.
About the Commission: The Somerset County Commission on the Status of Women shall advocate for all women in Somerset County by providing an effective forum to identify and address women’s issues and concerns.
Their goal is to develop a greater public awareness of women’s issues by sponsoring informational exchanges, to enhance the quality of life for everyone.
The Somerset County Commission on the Status of Women is a group of concerned individuals who are interested in identifying and addressing issues that affect women in our communities.
