Crash 'Severely' Damages Pole, Rt. 22 West Exit Remains Closed In Bridgewater
A 2020 Chevy Traverse, driven by 32-year-old woman from Neshanic Station, hit the curb, two NJDOT signs, and a utility pole, said police.
BRIDGEWATER, NJ — The Route 22 West exit onto Grove Street/N. Bridge Street is closed due to a motor vehicle crash on Monday morning, Bridgewater Police announced around 9 a.m.
On June 10 at around 8:20 a.m., a 2020 Chevy Traverse, driven by 32-year-old woman from Neshanic Station, was traveling westbound on Route 22 West in the right lane when it ran off the roadway to the right, said Bridgewater Police Lt. Frederick J. Brittain III.
She hit the curb, two NJDOT signs, and a utility pole. The utility pole was severely damaged at the base causing low hanging wires, said Brittain III.

The NJDOT diversion team responded to provide detours as the ramp from Route 22 west onto the Grove Street overpass was completely shut down due to the damaged utility pole and low hanging wires.
Those detours are currently still in effect as of 12:45 p.m.

PSE&G also responded to replace (No ETA for completion) the damaged utility pole. No one was injured as a result of this crash. This crash remains under investigation.
