After authorities rescued Shaik from the car, officers discovered that he was suffering from a serious injury to his left arm. He was then taken by Martinsville Rescue Squad to Robert Wood Johnson Hospital in New Brunswick for treatment, said Lamey.
A preliminary on-scene investigation determined that Shaik was driving a 2005 Toyota Corolla south on Chimney Rock Road when he lost control and struck a rock embankment on the shoulder.

The force of the impact caused the car to overturn onto its side where it slid across the roadway before coming to a final rest, said Lamey.
