Duke Island Park Playground Reopens Following Flooding In Bridgewater
The playground was closed "out of an abundance of caution" until the equipment was checked out following flooding last month.

BRIDGEWATER, NJ — The playground at Duke Island Park has reopened as of Wednesday after being closed for about a month following two major flooding events.
Everything is reopened except for one ladder that has been cordoned off, Somerset County Spokesman Nathan Rudy told Patch.
"The kids can come out and play!" said Rudy.

The playground was closed "out of an abundance of caution" until the manufacturer was able to send out a representative to check out the structure.
The representative confirmed the equipment was safe and secure except for the one ladder.

Flooding from the Raritan River on Dec. 18 and then again on Jan. 9 completely submerged Duke Island Park and the playground at 191 Old York Road in Bridgewater.
