DWI Arrests, Shoplifting Reported In Bridgewater

BRIDGEWATER, NJ — The Bridgewater Township Police released its blotter for the month of May.

On May 2 at around 11:10 a.m.: Nancy Abulmagd, 42, of Somerset, was stopped for shoplifting at Target located at 200 Promenade Blvd. Abulmagd stole store merchandise valued at $266.96. A complaint summons was issued with a pending court appearance.

On May 3 at around 10:20 a.m.: A 50-year-old woman from Fanwood, was stopped for shoplifting at Target located at 200 Promenade Blvd. She stole store merchandise valued at $159.99. A complaint summons was issued with a pending court appearance.

On May 4 at around 1:05 p.m.: Toshema Johnson, 37, of Bound Brook, was stopped for shoplifting at Target located at 200 Promenade Blvd. Johnson stole store merchandise valued at $508.72. A complaint summons was issued with a pending court appearance.

On May 5 at around 1:07 p.m.: David Marshall, 45, of Raritan, was stopped for shoplifting at Target located at 200 Promenade Blvd. Marshall stole store merchandise valued at $317.67. A complaint summons was issued with a pending court appearance.

On May 5 at around 5:05 p.m.: Christpher Nagers, 22, of Highland Park, was stopped for shoplifting at Wegmans located at 724 Rt 202 South. Nagers stole store merchandise valued at $708.39. A complaint summons was issued with a pending court appearance.

On May 8 at around 1:58 a.m.: Shreya Patel, 26, of Somerville, was stopped on East Main Street and Adamsville Road for driving in a reckless manner. Patel was subsequently arrested for DWI and was issued the following summonses: driving while intoxicated, reckless driving, and careless driving. Patel was released with a pending court appearance.

On May 10 at around 2:15 p.m.: A 64-year-old man from Bridgewater, was stopped for shoplifting at Target located at 200 Promenade Blvd. Galko stole store merchandise valued at $19. A complaint summons was issued with a pending court appearance.

On May 11 at around 2:03 a.m.: Kishankumar Smith, 27, of Islen, was stopped on Route 22 East after officers observed him traveling at a high rate of speed on a flat tire. Officers observed smoke emanating from the vehicle and disabling damage to the passenger's side of the vehicle. Smith was arrested at the scene for DWI and issued the following summonses: driving while intoxicated, careless driving, reckless driving, failure to report an accident, leaving the scene of an accident, and operating a vehicle in an unsafe condition. Smith was released with a pending court appearance.

On May 11 at around 7:37 a.m.: Officers were dispatched to a residence on Summit Ridge Drive for a report of a motor vehicle burglary. The vehicle was left unlocked/unsecured and the glove compartment was rummaged through.

On May 11 at around 10:59 a.m.: Officers were dispatched to a residence on Madison Avenue for a report of a motor vehicle burglary. The vehicle was left unlocked/unsecured and the glove compartment was rummaged through.

On May 11 at around 9:36 p.m.: Officers responded to Commons Way and Prince Rodgers Avenue for a report of a motor vehicle crash. Officers located Rebecca Carlin, 35, of Basking Ridge, who was arrested at the scene for DWI and issued the following summonses: driving while intoxicated, failure to stop or yield, and careless driving. Carlin was released with a pending court appearance.

On May 14 at around 5:43 p.m.: Sandra Briganti, 50, of Hillsborough, was stopped for shoplifting at Target located at 200 Promenade Blvd. Briganti stole store merchandise valued at $340.60. A complaint summons was issued with a pending court appearance.

On May 17 at around 4:56 p.m.: A 30-year-old man from Ridgefield Park, was stopped for shoplifting at Target located at 200 Promenade Blvd. He stole store merchandise valued at $174.07. A complaint summons was issued with a pending court appearance.

On May 22 at around 3:56 p.m.: Officers responded to Target located at 200 Promenade Blvd. for a report of a shoplifting in progress where the suspect fled on foot. Vanessa Aiello, 29, of Clinton, was located behind PetSmart and detained. Following the investigation, Aiello was arrested for stealing store merchandise valued at $347.96. Aiello was issued the following complaint summonses: shoplifting, possession of drug paraphernalia, and hindering. Aiello was released with a pending court appearance.

On May 23 at around 3 p.m.: Marcin Baginski, 37, of Somerset, was arrested for making fraudulent returns (on May 14) at The Home Depot located at 400 Promenade Blvd. Baginski fraudulently returned $1,001.84 worth of store merchandise. Baginski was released with a pending court appearance.

On May 25 at around 4:55 a.m.: Michael Costello, 21, of Greenbrook, was stopped for driving recklessly on Route 22 East. Costello was subsequently arrested for DWI and issued the following summonses: careless driving, reckless driving, unsafe lane change, and driving while intoxicated. Costello was released with a pending court appearance.

On May 25 at around 2:18 p.m.: Officers responded to Wegman's located at 724 Rt. 202 South for a report of a shoplifting where the suspect fled the area. The investigation revealed a 22-year-old from Raritan, stole $119.60 worth of store merchandise. They were issued a complaint summons for shoplifting with a pending court appearance.

On May 27 at around 1:35 a.m.: Hector Torres, 28, of Bedminster, was stopped for failure to maintain his lane on Route 28 (Union Avenue). Torres was subsequently arrested for DWI and issued the following summonses: careless driving, reckless driving, driving while intoxicated, failing to maintain lane, and following too closely. Torres was released with a pending court appearance.
