DWI Crashes, Car Burglaries, Shoplifting Reported In Bridgewater

Bridgewater Police released the latest blotter.

BRIDGEWATER, NJ — DWI crashes and arrests, car burglaries, and shoplifting were reported in the latest Bridgewater Police blotter.

On Dec. 15 at around 12:29 p.m.: A victim reported an attempted theft of her wallet at Costco, located at 325 Promenade Boulevard. The victim said an unknown man reached into her unzipped/unattended purse, located in her shopping cart, and removed her wallet. The victim confronted the suspect and he returned the wallet to her before fleeing the scene.

On Dec. 25 at around 10 a.m.: A victim reported their vehicle had been burglarized while parked on Stech Drive. The victim reported that someone entered their unlocked vehicle and rummaged through the center console and glove compartment.

On Dec. 25 at around 10:51 a.m.: A victim reported their vehicle had been burglarized while parked on Strull Court. The victim reported that someone entered their unlocked vehicle and rummaged through the center console and glove compartment.

On Dec. 28 at around 12:26 a.m.: Officers responded to the area of Route 22 West and Grove Street for a report of a motor vehicle crash. Rachel A. Bencivenga, 24, of Raritan, was arrested for DWI and issued the following summonses: DWI and careless driving. Bencivenga was released with a pending court appearance.

On Dec. 29 at around 9:54 p.m.: Margaret M. Ogden, 43, of Whitehouse Station, was stopped for shoplifting at Target, located at 200 Promenade Boulevard. Ogden stole store merchandise valued at $319.98. A complaint summons was completed and she was released with a pending court appearance.

On Dec. 31 at around 2:09 p.m.: Dennis Carrasco-Lopez was stopped for shoplifting at Macy's, located at 400 Commons Way. Carrasco-Lopez stole store merchandise valued at $242.73. A complaint summons was completed and he was released with a pending court appearance.

On Jan. 1 at around 3 a.m.: Carlos J. Sedeno, 30, of Keansburg, was arrested for DWI after a motor vehicle stop on Route 22 West. Sedeno was issued the following summonses: DWI, DWI with a juvenile in the vehicle, refusal to submit to breath testing, reckless driving, careless driving, and failure to signal for turn. Sedeno was released with a pending court appearance.

On Jan. 1 at around 3:48 a.m.: Officers responded to the intersection of Finderne Ave and 2nd Street for a report of an overturned vehicle. Officers located a 2002 Nissan Sentra operated by Maria R. Marinhull, 29, from Bound Brook, who was traveling south on Finderne Avenue when the vehicle crossed over the double yellow (center) lines, rolled over several times, and came to rest on the southeast corner of the intersection. There were no reported injuries as a result of the crash. Marinhull was arrested on scene for driving while intoxicated and subsequently issued summonses for reckless driving, careless driving and driving while intoxicated. Marinhull was released with a pending court appearance.

On Jan. 1 at around 4:30 p.m.: Juan Vallejo-Ramirez, 28, of Piscataway, was stopped for shoplifting at Target, located at 200 Promenade Boulevard. Vallejo-Ramirez stole store merchandise valued at $1,153.83. A complaint summons was completed and he was released with a pending court appearance.
