DWI Driver Crashes Into Utility Pole In Bridgewater: Police

The driver was also charged with reckless driving, unsafe lane change, failure to report a crash, and leaving the scene of a crash.

BRIDGEWATER, NJ — A Somerville man was charged with driving while intoxicated after he crashed his car into a utility pole this weekend.

On Dec. 9 at around 1:40 a.m., Kelvin Toruno-Bojorge, 26, of Somerville, was driving west on East Main Street when his vehicle left the north side of the road and hit a utility pole, said Bridgewater Police Lt. Kevin Lamey.

Toruno-Bojorge was arrested for DWI. No injuries were reported in the crash.

Toruno-Bojorge was issued the following summonses: DWI, reckless driving, careless driving, unsafe lane change, failure to report a crash, and leaving the scene of a crash.

He was released with a pending court appearance.

Finderne Fire Department came out to help with the cleanup of the crash.

The Finderne Fire Department, which covers the southeast section of Bridgewater Township, is always looking for volunteers.

Volunteers are offered complete protective gear, free training, LOSAP (Length of Service Award Programs), a pay-per-call incentive, a life insurance/disability plan, and an in-house gym.
