Driver Hit Pedestrian In Liquor Store Parking Lot: Raritan Police
Lorena Manobanda-Moreno, 38, of Raritan, reportedly fled the scene before police arrived on July 3.
RARITAN, NJ — A Raritan woman was charged with driving while intoxicated after police say she hit a pedestrian in the parking lot of a liquor store on Wednesday.
On July 3 at 2:53 p.m., Raritan patrol officers were called to Boro Liquors on Route 206 for a motor vehicle accident involving a pedestrian where the vehicle had fled the area.
Officers were given the fleeing vehicle's registration and description of the driver. The driver was later identified as Lorena Manobanda-Moreno, 38, of Lindner Court in Raritan, said Raritan Borough Police Department.

Officers found that Moreno had hit a parked car in the parking lot and entered the store. After exiting the store, Moreno was confronted by a 48-year-old Somerville woman who witnessed the accident.
Moreno continued to enter her vehicle to leave the scene. As Moreno reversed, the 48-year-old victim was hit, said police.

The 48-year-old woman declined medical assistance at the scene.
Additional officers went to Lindner Court and found Moreno near her vehicle. As officers tried to question Moreno, she tried to run into her home by jumping over her balcony railing. Officers quickly apprehended Moreno and she was placed under arrest, said police.
Moreno was later found guilty of leaving the scene of an accident, failing to report an accident, and public disturbance.
