DWI Driver Hits Pedestrian, Flees Scene On Route 22 In Somerset County: Cops
Nancy V. Acostafranco, 25, of Somerville, was charged after she was stopped in Bridgewater, said police.
NORTH PLAINFIELD, NJ — A woman was charged with driving while intoxicated after hitting a pedestrian and then fleeing the scene over the weekend, said police.
On Saturday, May 6 at around 11:11 p.m., Nancy V. Acostafranco, 25, of Somerville, hit a pedestrian on Route 22 West in North Plainfield, said North Plainfield Police.
Acostafranco then fled on the highway before being stopped by the Green Brook Police on the highway near Mountain Avenue in Bridgewater, said police.

Acostafranco was arrested for DWI. She was processed and later released with several motor vehicle summonses. Charges and toxicology are pending.
The victim is a 30-year-old man from North Plainfield. He suffered injuries to his neck, left side of his body, and contusions to the right side of his body. He was released from Robert Wood Johnson, said North Plainfield Police Lt. William Speck.
