EMBRACE THE MESS AT MESSY CHURCH PLUCKEMIN!
Church, but not as you know it!
Pluckemin, New Jersey (September 7, 2021) – The Pluckemin Presbyterian Church (PPC), located at 279 Route 202-206 in Pluckemin, is launching “Messy Church,” a church experience that celebrates the messiness of everyday life! Starting Tuesday, September 21st from 6:00-7:30pm, this monthly, mid-week gathering is intended for children, parents, and grandparents to come together for a light meal provided by the church, a brief Christian message, music and a craft or game appropriate for all in attendance. “Messy Church” encourages kids and adults to get their hands dirty, learn from each other and just have fun, while eliminating the “age silos” that result in separate worship experiences common in most churches.

“If you’re part of the sandwich generation – sandwiched between young children and aging parents – this is a way to bring the whole family to church just as they are,” says Chris Staffin, Director of Child and Family Ministries, “You don’t need to dress up, get up early, or have any previous church experience because it does not follow a traditional Sunday format. And perhaps the best part is that you don’t need to cook!”
The Pluckemin Presbyterian Church recognizes that everyday life can be messy including Sunday mornings – conflicts with kid’s sports, family commitments or maybe just a need for downtime make it difficult for some to attend church on Sunday mornings. “Messy Church” is the first of a series of alternative worship experiences being offered so that more of the community can Know God’s Love, Show God’s Love and Share God’s Love. The next “Messy Church” events will be on October 12, November 9 and December 14. Each date will have a different theme and activity.
