Fatal Route 22 Crash In Bridgewater Claims Life Of Somerset Man
Authorities are investigating the crash that occurred late Wednesday.
BRIDGEWATER, NJ — A fatal crash that happened around midnight Route 22 in Bridgewater is under investigation.
On June 21 at 11:58 p.m., the Bridgewater Township Police were called to a crash on Route 22 West at the intersection of the MetLife facility, said Bridgewater Police Sgt. Daniel Hennessey.
A 2018 Jeep Wrangler, driven by Charles Young, 54, of Somerset, and a 2018 Nissan Rogue, driven by Wallace Wilder, 47, of Charlotte, North Carolina were involved in the crash.

Members of the Bradley Gardens Volunteer Rescue Squad and Robert Wood Johnson Hospital’s Paramedics came to the crash to render aid.
Young was pronounced dead at the scene by Dr. Lira of Newark Beth Israel Medical Center, said Hennessey.

Wilder was taken to a nearby hospital with minor injuries.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation and no charges have been filed at this time.
