Fire Trucks, Festivals, Food Trucks: Weekend Events In Somerset County

SOMERSET COUNTY, NJ — Somerset County is hopping this weekend with a whole list of events including fire department celebrations and festivals.

Hillsborough Rotary Fair

• Location: Hillsborough Promenade, 315 Route 206
• Hours: 6 to 11 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 19 and Saturday, Aug, 20.
• Fireworks: A firework display by Interstate Fireworks and sponsored by Petrock's Bar & Grille and Petrock's Liquors, will light up Hillsborough skies on Friday, at about 10 p.m. The rain date for the fireworks is Saturday at 10 p.m.
• Entertainment: A classic carnival with a colorful midway features more than 20 amusement rides, games of chance, food vendors and an exposition of local businesses. A $35, all-night-long ride access purchase option is available every night, or patrons may choose a different dollar amount appropriate for only select rides.

Green Knoll Fire Department 75 Year Anniversary Celebration

• When, Where: the free event will be held on Saturday, Aug. 20 from noon to 5 p.m. at the firehouse at 606 N Bridge St. in Bridgewater.
• Activities: a beer garden, dunk tank, hose spraying for the kids, food trucks, bounce house, music, and more. There will also be anniversary T-shirts and pint glasses for sale. All proceeds will benefit the Green Knoll Fire Department.
• Parking: The public will be parking at the Bridgewater-Raritan Middle School and a bus will transport guests to and from the parking lot and the Firehouse. Handicapped parking will be located at the firehouse.

Snyder’s Farm Food Trucks & Music Fest

• When: Saturday, Aug. 20 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
• Where: Snyder’s Farm586 S Middlebush Rd, Somerset
• Price: $5 for admission to truck festival
• Activities: 15 Gourmet Food Trucks, Live Music from 3 bands, Beer, Margarita & Sangria Garden, Pony Rides, Petting Zoo, Knocker ball, Hatchet throwing, face painting.
• Farm Activities: Sunflower Trail, Corn Maze, Flower Picking, U-Pick tomatoes, Fresh Produce Market, Honey Tasting, a Kids Zone with tire pyramid, lawn games, moon bounce, pedal carts, hamster wheels and more.

World Honey Bee Day event

• When: Saturday, Aug. 20 from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.
• Where: Wagner Farm Arboretum Children's Garden at 197 Mountain Ave. in Warren.
• Activities: Children will hear stories about bees, honey and Winnie the Pooh. Families can also go on a Story Walk and show their artistic side with fun and easy crafts and coloring activities.
