SOMERSET COUNTY, NJ — The National Weather Service has extended an urban and small stream flood advisory for Somerset County until 9:15 p.m. on Tuesday. It had initially been issued until 5:30 p.m.

Heavy rain may cause urban and small stream flooding in the advisory area.

The NWS estimates around an inch and a half of rain has fallen over the past several hours with a quick half inch to inch possible over the next hour or so. This will likely cause flooding in urban and low lying areas as well as ponding of water on roadways.
