Flood Watch Issued For Somerset County Through Monday Night

SOMERSET COUNTY, NJ — It's not only a gloomy weekend but a gloomy week ahead of us, as rain is forecast. There is also a flood watch in effect for Somerset County through Monday night.
A prolonged period of moderate to heavy rain will fall starting late Saturday night and continuing into Monday. One to three inches of rain is expected throughout the area, but there is the potential of thunderstorms that could result in 5 inches or more of rain, the National Weather Service reported.

Today: A chance of showers, mainly before 9 a.m. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 72. Northeast wind 8 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40 percent. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.
Tonight: Showers likely, mainly after 4 a.m. Cloudy, with a low around 57. Northeast wind around 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.

Sunday: Rain. The rain could be heavy at times. High near 65. Northeast wind around 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80 percent. New precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
Sunday Night: Rain. The rain could be heavy at times. Low around 59. East wind around 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90 percent. New precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
Monday: Showers, with thunderstorms also possible after 2 p.m. Some of the storms could produce heavy rainfall. High near 74. East wind 10 to 13 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80 percent. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
Monday Night: Showers and thunderstorms likely. Some of the storms could produce heavy rainfall. Cloudy, with a low around 69. Chance of precipitation is 70 percent. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
Tuesday: Showers likely, with thunderstorms also possible after 2 p.m. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 83. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent.
Tuesday Night: A chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 67. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent.
Wednesday: A chance of showers, with thunderstorms also possible after 2 p.m. Partly sunny, with a high near 83. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent.
