BRIDGEWATER, NJ — The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection will be conducting a controlled burn in Washington Valley Park in Bridgewater on Wednesday, announced police.
Residents in the area of Newmans Lane, Chimney Rock Road, and Gilbride Road may experience smoke in the area, said Bridgewater Police in an alert sent out around 8:45 a.m.
A controlled burn is conducted to reduce fuel buildup on the forest floor and decrease the likelihood of a fire in the future.
