Fundraiser For Branchburg Teen Killed In Car Crash Started

BRANCHBURG, NJ — A fundraiser has been started for the Branchburg family of 17-year-old Vincent "Vinny" Gagliardi, who was killed in a car crash last week.

"Our family and community are devastated by the loss of Vincent who was suddenly taken from us after a car accident," according to the GoFundMe site.

Gagliardi, a Somerville High School student, was a front-seat passenger of a 2006 Toyota Scion on the night of Oct. 8 when he was ejected from the car. Read More: Police Investigate Fatal Crash Of 17-Year-Old Branchburg Boy

Gagliardi was born in Somerville but lived in Branchburg all of his life. He worked part-time as a cashier at Shop Rite in Branchburg.

He was very active in sports and activities participating in Branchburg In-Town Soccer, Travel Soccer, Somerville High School Freshman Soccer, Cub Scouts, Branchburg In-Town Baseball, Branchburg In-Town Lacrosse and Somerville High School Ski Club.

"Vincent loved to spend time with his amazing group of friends. His passion was skateboarding and online gaming. One thing Vincent enjoyed the most was taking trips to LBI in the summer to spend quality time with his family," according to the Branchburg Funeral Home obituary.

Gagliardi is survived by his parents, Kelly and Richard Gagliardi, sister, Erica Gagliardi of Branchburg; two aunts, Kimberly and husband Patrick Mock of Woodstock, GA; Krista and husband Derek Koch of Atlanta, GA; three uncles, Steven and wife Anne Marie Gagliardi of Whippany; Anthony Gagliardi of Whitehouse Station; Brian Gagliardi of Whitehouse Station; his paternal grandparents, Judy and Russ Evans of Whitehall, PA; his maternal grandmother, Sharon Cook of Lawrenceville, GA; and many loving cousins.

A viewing will be held on Thursday, Oct. 14, from 4 to 9 p.m. at the Branchburg Funeral Home 910 Rt. 202 South in Branchburg.

A prayer service will begin at the funeral home on Friday, Oct. 15 at 8:45 a.m. Funeral mass will follow at Our Lady of Lourdes in Whitehouse Station. Committal is private.
