Fundraiser For Bridgewater Man Stabbed While Protecting Friend
A GoFundMe page was started to raise money for Kelvin Lee's medical bills after he was repeatedly stabbed while protecting a friend.

BRIDGEWATER, NJ — Bridgewater's 25-year-old Kelvin Lee has always been someone you can count on. And that is exactly what Lee did on Oct. 24 when he was repeatedly stabbed while saving his friend's life, his family says.
After hearing about Lee's heroic actions, his uncle and aunt Jeff and Sue Roscher set up a GoFundMe page to help rally the community around Lee and offset the medical expenses he incurred in their horrific encounter.
Jeff Roscher is calling Lee a "hero" for his actions on Oct. 24.

Roscher said when Lee's friend recently broke up with her ex-boyfriend, Lee was there to help her get a Uhaul and move her out of the apartment.
On Saturday, Oct. 24 at around 2 a.m., Lee was sleeping at his friend's house in Sayerville when Roscher says the ex-boyfriend kicked in the back door, breaking the door frame and jumped on top of Lee.

"At one point the ex-boyfriend was trying to choke Lee to death," Roscher said. "He was on top of him and had a knife. He sliced up Kelvin and buried his knife in his skull."
Lee was able to wrestle the ex-boyfriend away and convince him to leave.
"Kelvin bravely did what we all wish we would do in this situation," Roscher said. "Everyone would have certainly been killed if not for his actions."
Roscher said Lee suffered from severe injuries including a huge gash to his face, a knife blade which broke off and got stuck in his skull, and all of the tendons and nerves were severed in one of his arms.
"The doctors had to remove a part of his skull and replace it with titanium," Roscher said of Lee.
He has since been sent home from the hospital but he is unable to return to work at TGI Fridays in Bridgewater where he was working as a waiter. Roscher said Lee also is unable to return to school at Raritan Valley Community College.
Lee is expected to undergo physical and mental therapy as a result of the fight, Roscher said.
To help Lee, Roscher set up the fundraising page to cover all medical expenses at the hospital and afterward. To donate, click here.
