“It was so wonderful to see so many volunteers come out to help their neighbors. Their commitment to community is inspiring, and is needed now more than ever for vulnerable individuals while we are still in the middle of a pandemic,” Bridgewater YMCA & Somerville YMCA Branch Executive Director Kate Russo said, who organizes the annual event.

This year, Starbucks of Somerville donated coffee and snacks to each cleanup location as a thank you to the YMCA and its volunteers for their efforts, and some Starbucks staff members also joined in on the leaf raking to help the cause.
