I-287 To I-78 Ramp Reopens After Sinkhole In Somerset County
The ramp reopened Tuesday night after being closed since June 19 due to a sinkhole emerging on the heavily traveled exit ramp.

BEDMINSTER, NJ — The Interstate 287 north ramp to Interstate 78 east exit ramp reopened to traffic Tuesday night after a sinkhole emerged in June in Bedminster, said New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) officials.
The temporary ramp is located at I-287 north Exit 21A ramp to I-78 east. The ramp had been closed since June 19 because of a sinkhole in the right lane and shoulder.
NJDOT has stabilized the damaged area from the sinkhole and is continuing to investigate the cause of the sinkhole. A permanent repair is being designed, NJDOT Spokesman Steve Schapiro said previously. Read More: I-287 To I-78 Temporary Ramp To Be Built After Sinkhole Emerges
