Golf serves the single largest recreation constituency in Somerset County and the Park Commission annually gives residents what they ask for...great golf at a reasonable price. The five county golf courses easily accommodate in excess of 175,000 rounds of golf each year.
Neshanic Valley Golf Course, at 2301 South Branch Road in Neshanic Station, is the flagship facility attracting golfers to the championship caliber layout at reasonable rates. The 27-hole course, the 9-hole Academy Course, the Learning Center, the Callaway Golf Performance Center, and the HDGolf Simulator, with 26 international course options, provide golfers with a complete play and practice experience. Neshanic Valley is currently open for play along with Spooky Brook Golf Course at Colonial Park in Somerset. Quail Brook Golf Course on New Brunswick Road in Somerset, NJ. and Green Knoll Golf Course on Garretson Road in Bridgewater will open on Thursday, March 1, 2018 and Warrenbrook Golf Course on Warrenville Road in Warren Township, NJ is expected to re-open on March 12, 2018.

Neshanic Valley has been recognized by Golfweek as one of the Top 50 Public Courses in the country and is the only government-owned and operated facility to make the list. The Neshanic Valley Golf Academy offers golf instruction to players of all skill levels with a driving range, two practice holes, a putting green, and three practice chipping greens with bunkers. The Junior Golf Program served more than 900 of tomorrow's golfers last year. Included in the Junior programs are Junior Golf Camps a Spring Tune- Up, the 30th Annual Junior Golf School, the Advanced Golf School, the Junior Golf League, the 24th Annual Pitch & Putt Tournament, and the 27th Annual Family Golf Outing.
The annual tournament schedule includes the 15th Annual William W. Anderson Match Play Tournament for Men & Women beginning on Saturday, April 21; the Pro/Celebrity Benefit Golf Tournament sponsored by the Somerset County Park Foundation on Monday, May 7; the individual club championships on Saturday and Sunday, May 19 & 20; June 2 & 3, June 23 & 24, July 14 & 15, and August 4 & 5; the 59th Annual Dr. Michael S. Kline Memorial Somerset County Tournament for Men & Women beginning Saturday, September 8; and the 40th Annual Senior (over age 62) Tournament for Men & Women on Tuesday, September 18, 2018. All tournaments require pre-registration and an entrance fee. Applications are available at each County Golf Shop.
