Large Barn Fire Rages For 8 Hours, Draws Firefighters From Somerset County

It took first responders about eight hours to get the large fire under control on Thursday night.

READINGTON, NJ — A large barn fire broke out in Readington on Thursday night drawing first responders from all over Hunterdon and Somerset Counties.

The fire was reported just before 6 p.m. on Pine Bank Road.

First arriving first responders encountered heavy fire conditions. Help was requested to bring additional water to the scene as well as multiple fill sites established in the town for refill.

Crews worked for approximately 8 hours to bring the fire under control, according to Readington Volunteer Fire Company.

There were no reported injuries and the scene was turned over to the Readington Police Department and Raritan Township Fire Marshal’s Office for investigation.
