The high school theatre department will perform the cult-classic musical comedy for three days this April in the school auditorium.

BRIDGEWATER, NJ — Bridgewater-Raritan High School Theatre Arts has announced plans to present the musical Little Shop of Horrors this spring.

The production will take place from April 16 through April 18, inside the high school auditorium at 600 Garretson Road in Bridgewater.

Set on Skid Row, the plot follows Seymour Krelborn, a meek employee who finds fame and fortune after nurturing an unusual plant he names Audrey II. As the plant grows larger and more demanding, Seymour must grapple with the consequences of feeding its hunger while chasing his dreams of success and love.

The show blends humor with rock, doo-wop, and R&B-inspired music.

"This show is a really exciting experience for both performers and audiences," Heather Diaforli-Day, the BRHS Theatre Arts Director, said. "Little Shop of Horrors blends comedy, great music, and unforgettable characters. Our cast and crew have embraced the show’s playful style, and audiences will be delighted by the Audrey II puppets that bring the famous plant to life on stage."

"It’s been a joy to watch our students work together to bring this creative production to the stage," she added.

The production is presented through a special arrangement with Music Theatre International. Performances are scheduled for 7 p.m. each evening from April 16 through April 18. An additional matinee performance will be held at 2 p.m. on April 18.

Tickets are available for $15 either at the door or through the school website.
