Locals Flock To Trader Joe's Opening In Bridgewater: Photos

BRIDGEWATER, NJ — It was and continues to be a packed house inside and outside of Trader Joe's newest location in Bridgewater. The new specialty grocery store opened Friday despite having a fire inside the day before.
The store held its grand opening festivities at 8:55 a.m. and opened to the public at 9 a.m. Shoppers were greeted with a musician performing island-style music. Inside shoppers buzzed around and were each given one free reusable shopping bag at checkout.
The new store at 315 Promenade Blvd. in Bridgewater does not sell alcohol like other nearby locations in Westfield or Princeton.

The parking lot was packed with cars bleeding into the parking areas near Bob's and Costco. Police were present outside the store as well to keep the peace.
The specialty grocery store opened in the Bridgewater Promenade between Routes 28 and East Main Street. Trader Joe's replaced the former Golfsmith store which was located next to Old Navy.

The store is open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
