Man Airlifted, 2 Others Injured In Serious Bridgewater Crash

A Newtown, PA, driver lost control of a 2009 Chrysler 300, went off the roadway, and hit a tree on Friday night, said police.

BRIDGEWATER, NJ — A 21-year-old man had to be flown to the hospital Friday after he and two other people were injured in a crash in Bridgewater, police said.

On Jan. 12 at 8:26 p.m., the Bridgewater Police Department went to North Bridge Street and Yohn Drive to investigate a single-vehicle crash.

The driver, identified as Michael Cozzolino, 21, of Newtown PA, lost control a 2009 Chrysler 300, went off the roadway and hit a tree, said Bridgewater Polie Lt. Frederick J. Brittain III.

Cozzolino and front seat passenger Ryan Sullivan, 23, of Flemington, were treated at the scene for minor injuries.

The rear-seat passenger, identified as Michael DeLong, 21, of Newtown, PA, was taken to Morristown Hospital by a New Jersey State Police North Star for serious injuries.

The crash is still under investigation by the Bridgewater Township Police Department’s Traffic Safety Unit.
