Man Arrested For Driving Drunk At Bridgewater Elementary School: Cops
Shoplifting, criminal mischief and theft were also reported during the month of March in Bridgewater, according to the police blotter.
BRIDGEWATER, NJ — A man was charged and arrested for driving while intoxicated at an elementary school in Bridgewater, according to the police blotter.
On March 8 at around 4:17 p.m., officers responded to Adamsville School for a report of an intoxicated person.
Joseph Burger III, 43, of Frenchtown, was arrested at the scene for DWI and issued the following summonses: driving while intoxicated, driving while intoxicated in a school zone, and open container in a motor-vehicle.

Burger was released with a pending court appearance.

On Feb. 8 at around 9:11 p.m.: In the area of Foothill Road and Finderne Avenue officers stopped a 2007 Toyota Corolla being driven by Jessica E. Bojko, 37, of Manville, for failure to maintain lane. Bojko was arrested on the scene for DWI and issued the following summonses: driving while intoxicated, failure to maintain lane, careless driving, and open container of alcohol inside a motor vehicle. Bojko was released with a pending court appearance.
On Feb. 27 at around 1:09 p.m.: Officers responded to Champs (located at 400 Commons Way) to investigate a report of shoplifting after the actor fled the scene. An investigation of the incident determined, a 32-year-old fromf Mount Vernon, NY stole store merchandise valued at $250. They were issued a summons for shoplifting with a pending court appearance.
On March 1 at around 11:28 a.m.: A victim reported the spare tire was taken from his 2024 Jeep Wrangler which was parked in the parking lot of 100 Somerset Corporate Blvd. The victim advised he parked his vehicle in the parking lot on Jan. 27 and when he returned on March 1 the spare exterior tire was missing.
On March 3 at around 3:43 p.m.: Officers were dispatched to Target located at 200 Promenade Blvd. to investigate an incident of shoplifting where the suspect fled the scene. Officers were able to locate and identify, a 45-year-old man from Edison, as the suspect who stole store merchandise valued at $109. He was issued a summons for shoplifting with a pending court appearance.
On March 3 at around 6:05 p.m.: Officers investigated a report of criminal mischief in the parking lot of Bloomingdales located in the Bridgewater Commons Mall. The victim said he parked his 2018 Toyota Camry in the parking lot of Bloomingdales at around 4:40 p.m. and when he returned he observed fresh damage (scratch marks) consistent with being "keyed."
On March 5 at around 11:23 p.m.: Officers responded to the area of Chimney Rock Road and Route 22 East (local ramp) for a motor-vehicle crash involving a 2017 Acura RDX and a 2017 Ford Escape. The investigation determined the operator; Josephine Mangean, 67, of Bridgewater was driving the 2017 Acura RDX and was intoxicated. Mangean was arrested at the scene for DWI and issued the following summons: driving while intoxicated and careless driving. Mangean was released with a pending court appearance.
On March 9 at around 4:59 p.m.: A 19-year-old and a 24-year-old, both of Plainfield, were arrested for shoplifting at Macy's Department Store, located at 400 Commons Way. They stole store merchandise valued at $386. Both were charged with shoplifting and hindering apprehension and taken to the Somerset County Jail.
On March 15 at around 3:16 p.m.: Officers were called to Target for an incident of shoplifting where the suspect fled the scene. The investigation determined the actor to be a 52-year-old from Piscataway who stole store merchandise valued at $499. He was charged with shoplifting, issued a summons with a pending court appearance.
On March 15 at around 7:55 p.m.: A 57-year-old from Bridgewater, was stopped for shoplifting at Target, located at 200 Promenade Blvd. She stole store merchandise valued at $199. She was charged with shoplifting, issued a summons and released with a pending court appearance.
On March 16 at around 6:19 p.m.: A 27-year-old from Brooklyn and a 19-year-old from Middlesex, were stopped for shoplifting at Target, located at 200 Promenade Blvd. They stole store merchandise valued at $422. Both were charged with Shoplifting, issued summonses with a pending court appearance.
On March 17 at around 12:49 a.m.: A 2017 Jeep SUV, driven by Jose Vargas, 36, of Middlesex, was stopped on Route 22 East after an officer saw several motor-vehicle violations. Vargas was subsequently arrested for DWI and issued the following summonses: driving while intoxicated, careless driving, following too closely, failure to maintain lane, and reckless driving. Vargas was released with a pending court appearance.
On March 18 at around 3:22 p.m.: Officers were dispatched to Target for a report of shoplifting where the actor(s) fled the scene. The investigating officer was able to identify a 47-year-old from Bridgewater, as the actor. She stole store merchandise valued at $109.69. She was charged with shoplifting and issued a summons with a pending court appearance.
On March 22 at around 1:39 a.m.: A 2018 Subaru Outback, operated by John Lawler, 32, of Three Bridges, was stopped on Rpute 22 West after an officer saw several motor-vehicle violations. Lawler was subsequently arrested for DWI and issued the following summonses:driving while intoxicated, careless driving, and reckless driving. Lawler was released with a pending court
appearance.
On March 23 at around 4:01 p.m.: Chrystalynn Simon, 34, of Somerville, was stopped for shoplifting at Target, located at 200 Promenade Blvd. Simon stole store merchandise valued at $1,111.03. Simon was charged with shoplifting and issued a summons with a pending court
appearance.
On March 24 at around 6:50 a.m.: Officers were dispatched to the area of Vosseller Avenue and Van Pelt Court for a report of a single car, motor-vehicle crash involving a 2020 Acura TLX. The driver, Endy Grandados-Bustos, 21, of Warren, was taken to Robert Wood Johnson (New Brunswick) for injuries sustained as a result of the crash. The investigation revealed that Bustos was driving north on Vosseller Avenue when he ran off the roadway to the right and struck a fire hydrant, overturned, struck a concrete mailbox post and come to reset in in the southbound lane of Vosseller Avenue. Bustos was subsequently arrested for driving while intoxicated and issued the summonses: DWI, improper passing, reckless driving, careless driving, and unsafe lane change. Bustos was released from police custody, at the hospital, with a pending court appearance,
On March 24 at around 10:40 p.m.: A 2011 Toyota RAV 4, being driven by Kylie Lawson, 22, of Raritan, was stopped on Adamsville Road after the officer observed several motor-vehicle violations. Lawson was subsequently arrested for DWI and issued the following summonses: driving while intoxicated, reckless driving, careless driving, failing to maintain lane, and unsafe lane change. Lawson was released with a pending court appearance.
On March 26 at around 6:31 p.m.: A 47-year-old from Piscataway, was stopped for shoplifting and attempting to make fraudulent returns at Target located at 200 Promenade Blvd. She stole store merchandise valued at $252.95. She was charged with shoplifting, theft by deception and issued a summons with a pending court appearance.
On March 29 at around 3:37 p.m.: Officers were dispatched to Target for a report of a shoplifting where the actor(s) fled the scene. The investigating officer was able to a 66-year-old from Newark, as the actor. She stole store merchandise valued at $677.00. She was charged with shoplifting and issued a summons with a pending court appearance.
