Man Forcibly Tries To Grab Leash, Steal English Bulldog In Somerset County: Cops
The dog is said to be worth $5,000, said North Plainfield Police Lt. William Speck.

NORTH PLAINFIELD, NJ — A man is wanted after police say he pushed a dog owner and tried to steal an English Bulldog worth thousands in North Plainfield on Wednesday night.
On Feb. 22 at 7:48 p.m., a man was approached from behind by a man and pushed as he was getting out of his car in the Green Brook Gardens at 1275 Rock Ave., said North Plainfield Police Lt. William Speck.
The victim had his English Bulldog on a leash and held onto the leash as the suspect tried to grab the leash and take the dog, said Speck.

"Once the suspect realized that the dog owner was not going to let go, he left the area on foot," said Speck.
The suspect is described as a black man, in his 20s with short hair, wearing a black and red jacket and blue jeans. The suspect could not be located by responding units.

The dog is said to be worth five thousand dollars, said Speck.
The victim was not injured during the incident.
