Man Hit By Car, Dies In Somerset County

There is an ongoing investigation into the crash on Saturday night by the Bound Brook Police and the Somerset County Prosecutor's Office.

BOUND BROOK, NJ — Authorities are investigating a car crash where a pedestrian was hit and killed on Saturday night in Bound Brook.

On Sept. 30 at around 9:52 p.m., Bound Brook Police went to the intersection of East Main Street and Mountain Avenue for the report of a pedestrian hit by a motor vehicle, said Bound Brook Police Chief Richard Colombaroni

Officers along with Emergency Medical personnel began life-saving measures on the pedestrian.

The victim, a 57-year-old man from Bound Brook, was subsequently pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the motor vehicle remained at the scene, said Colombaroni.

Patrol Officers and Detectives from the Bound Brook Police Department and the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Collision Analysis Reconstruction Team are investigating. The circumstances and events leading to the crash remain under investigation by authorities.
