Man With Stolen Gun, Hollow Point Bullets Arrested In Bound Brook: Police
The Philadelphia man was found walking near a vacant apartment in a Bound Brook apartment complex last week, said police.
BOUND BROOK, NJ — A Philadelphia man was arrested after police say he has a stolen gun and hollow point bullets in his possession in Bound Brook.
Sofiane Pereira, 30, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania was charged with second-degree unlawful possession of a weapon, fourth-degree unlawful possession of hollow-point bullets, and fourth-degree unlawful possession of a large-capacity ammunition magazine, Bound Brook Chief of Police Richard S. Colombaroni announced
On Nov. 22, at around 2:09 p.m., Bound Brook Police got a call reporting a suspicious man trespassing in a vacant apartment in a Bound Brook apartment complex.

A Bound Brook Patrol Officer found the suspect walking nearby. Pereira was stopped and during the initial investigation, found to be in possession of a stolen Glock 17 handgun, said Colombaroni.
Additionally, Pereira was found to be in possession of 17 9mm hollow-point bullets following a search, said Colombaroni.

Pereira was taken to the Bound Brook Police Department where he was processed on charges. He was lodged in the Somerset County Jail pending a detention hearing in this matter.
