Man Tried To Lure 14-Year-Old Girl Into Sex In Somerset County: Prosecutor
Javier O. Moreno, 22, of South Bound Brook, sent obscene material to the girl and tried to lure her to a location for sex, said authorities.

SOUTH BOUND BROOK, NJ — A South Bound Brook man was charged after police say he tried to lure a 14-year-old girl to a location for sex and sent her obscene material.
Javier O. Moreno, age 22, Bell Street, South Bound Brook was arrested on May 9 in South Bound Brook without incident and charged with second-degree luring and third-degree knowingly distributing obscene material to a minor, said Somerset County Prosecutor John P. McDonald and Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Chief of County Detectives John W. Fodor on Tuesday.
The investigation was prompted after South Bound Brook police officers went to Maple Avenue Park on April 26 and told that Moreno had sent obscene photos to a 14-year-old girl, said McDonald.

An investigation was initiated by the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Special Investigations/Computer Crimes Unit and the South Bound Brook Police Department.
It was found that Moreno had sent an obscene photo to a 14-year-old girl and tried to plan with the girl to meet at a location in South Bound Brook to engage in sexual activity, following an investigation by detectives assigned to the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Computer Crimes Unit.

Moreno was arrested on May 9 and taken to the Somerset County Jail where he will remain pending a detention hearing in this matter.
