Man Tried To Meet 14-Year-Old For Sex In Bound Brook, Charged: PD

BOUND BROOK, NJ — A North Bergan man, who thought he was meeting a 14-year-old for sex in Bound Brook, was arrested, said Somerset County Prosecutor Michael H. Robertson.

In October 2020, Dave J. Adamovic, 48, of 1st Avenue, North Bergen, began chatting on various apps with an undercover detective whom he believed to be 14 years of age, said Robertson.

During the chats, Adamovic became sexual and made plans to travel to meet the undercover detective to engage in sexual intercourse, said Robertson.

On Feb. 5, Adamovic traveled to Bound Brook to meet with the person whom he believed to be 14 years of age to engage in sexual acts. Instead, he was arrested by authorities when he arrived, said Robertson.

Adamovic was charged with second-degree attempted luring, second-degree attempted sexual assault, second-degree attempted manufacturing child pornography, third-degree attempted endangering the welfare of a child, and third-degree promotion of obscene material to a person under 18 years of age.

Adamovic is being held at the Somerset County Jail pending a bail detention hearing.
