Man Wanted For Unlawful Gun Possession In Somerset County

SOUTH BOUND BROOK, NJ — A man is wanted by the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office(SCPO) for unlawful possession of a handgun in South Bound Brook, said authorities.

James. E. Schoenknecht was named SCPO's Fugitive of the Month for August 2024.

Schoenknecht is wanted by the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office for two counts of second-degree unlawful possession of a handgun, and one count of fourth-degree possession of prohibited weapon or device which occurred on June 26, 2021 in South Bound Brook.

A warrant has been issued for his arrest.

The SCPO released the following information on Schoenknecht:

• Date of birth: 5/20/2000
• Height: 6'2"
• Weight: 180-220
• Hair: Brown
• Eyes: Blue
• Tattoos: Abdomen
• Last known address: Naples, FL and Cranford, NJ
