Martinsville Weight Loss Surgeon Named Among America's Top Doctors

BRIDGEWATER, NJ — A Martinsville surgeon was one of the country's physicians to be honored as America's Top Doctors by Castle Connolly.

The list, which was published by Inside Jersey, surveyed thousands of physicians and other health care professionals and asked them to identify excellent doctors in various specialties. Castle Connolly reviews the credentials of every physician nominated, including his or her medical education, training and professional achievements.

David Ward, MD, Bariatric Surgeon of Atlantic Medical Group of Martinsville has been practicing for 17 years.

But his career didn’t start off that way. He initially was a Chemical Engineer for six years when he decided to follow his passion in the medicine and he couldn’t be happier.

“Being a weight loss surgeon as a profession is rewarding and most of all my patients do very well,” Ward told Patch. “You can see the positive change in their life. It’s a happy practice.”

Ward is very happy to be awarded as a Top Doctor, but he is no stranger to getting recognition.

“It’s always nice to get recognition,” Ward said. “NJ Monthly has named me as top doctor since 2008. And I have been named by Castle Connolly before as well. You are awarded based on reviews from fellow physicians and they turn to feedback they get from patients.”

Ward works with Atlantic Medical Group in their offices in Morristown and Martinsville.
