Motorcyclist Dies, Minivan Driver Hospitalized In Route 202 Crash In Branchburg
The driver of the motorcycle was identified as a 24-year-old man from Raritan Township, said police.
BRANCHBURG, NJ — A 24-year-old motorcyclist was killed and a minivan driver was hospitalized following a crash on Route 202 in Branchburg on Wednesday.
At around 3:34 p.m. on Wednesday, the Branchburg Police Department was called to a motor vehicle crash involving a motorcycle and a minivan on Route 202 South at Holland Brook Road, said Somerset County Prosecutor John P. McDonald.
The driver of the motorcycle, a 24-year-old man from Raritan Township, was severely injured, and later pronounced dead on scene as a result of his injuries stemming from the crash, McDonald said.

His name is being withheld out of respect for the privacy of his family, McDonald said.
The driver of the minivan, a 33-year-old woman from Flemington, was trapped inside of the vehicle, and had to be removed with the help of local fire departments.

She was taken to a nearby hospital by New Jersey State Police MedEvac due to injuries she sustained from the crash.
Due to the severity of the crash, Route 202 South from Old York Road through Whiton Road was closed with the help of the New Jersey Department of Transportation until around 7:45 p.m., and traffic on Route 202 South had to be diverted to Old York Road. The underlying cause of the crash remains under investigation by Branchburg PD and the Somerset County Prosecutor's Office Crash Analysis Reconstruction Team (CART) at this time.
