New Cannabis Dispensary Coming To Route 22 In Somerset County
Signs promoting Cloud Nine Cannabis Dispensary are displayed outside of the location off Route 22 West.
NORTH PLAINFIELD, NJ — A new marijuana dispensary is coming to Somerset County.
Cloud Nine Cannabis Dispensary, owned by Cloud Nine Dispensary LLC, was previously approved for the location at 513-527 Route 22 West in North Plainfield by the Borough Council. And signs for the new dispensary were recently posted this month.
The resolution by the Council said the dispensary's location is "appropriately located" in a commercial and business zone and not in a residential zone.

The dispensary will be located next to Batteries Plus Bulbs on the highway. The location was formerly home to Sheelan's Fish Market. However, the business relocated back to Fanwood in December 2022.
Cloud Nine was among 68 cannabis growers and manufacturers to receive an approved conditional license on March 24, 2022. The retailer Cloud Nine then went before the state again this past February to convert the conditional license to an annual license.
