NJ Transit Director To Meet With Somerset Business Community

The focus will be on how to improve transit within, to, and from Somerset County.

(SCBP)

From SCBP: Focusing on a critically important and timely issue for Somerset County businesses and residents, the Somerset County Employers Legislative Committee (ELC) will host New Jersey Transit Executive Director Kevin Corbett at a luncheon scheduled for Friday, June 28, 2019. The luncheon and discussion will take place at Verve Bistro, Bar, & Lounge, 18 East Main Street in Somerville from 11:30 A.M. to 1:00 P.M.

Director Corbett is expected to discuss his priorities in supporting transportation to, from, and within Somerset County. Among the topics to be addressed are the one-seat ride to and from Manhattan along the Raritan Valley Line, an important contributor to the continued investment and growth of the region. Along with the proposed Gateway Tunnel, these two projects are necessary to assure continued economic growth.

“There is no more opportune time for Somerset County business and political leaders to meet with the Executive Director of NJ Transit," said Carol Bianchi, co-chair of the Somerset County ELC. "Discussions of the one-seat ride, the Gateway Tunnel, and people movement in general are active and ongoing. This is our opportunity to add to that discussion."
