Somerset Co. Man Killed In Workplace Forklift Accident

Police were called to Diamond Brite Metals, 333 Cedar Ave., in Middlesex on Tuesday for a report of a forklift accident.

MIDDLESEX, NJ — A Somerset County man was killed Tuesday morning in an industrial workplace accident in Middlesex borough, police announced.

On June 11 at 7:17 a.m., Middlesex Police were called to Diamond Brite Metals at 333 Cedar Ave. for a report of a forklift accident.

The employee who died was identified as Jimmy Fernando Parrales Mora, 46, of North Plainfield.

When they got there, police found him unresponsive. It was determined that a metal beam fell and hit Parrales Mora while he was working. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Representatives from the U.S. Department of Labor Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) are now investigating.
