3 Injured In Route 202 Crash Involving Overturn In Raritan

The highway has since reopened yet delays remain on Route 202 on Wednesday evening.

RARITAN, NJ — An two-car crash involving an overturned vehicle on Route 202 is causing severe delays in both directions in the Raritan/Bridgewater area.

The crash was reported around 4 p.m. north of Ortho Drive in Raritan Borough,.

The driver of the rolled-over vehicle was a 76-year-old man who had numerous cuts and abrasions. He declined further medical treatment, said Raritan Police Sgt. Everett Holt.

The second car had two women, ages 43 and 33, inside with one having an arm injury and the other with a back injury. Both were taken to a local hospital, said Holt.

As a result, the left lane on both sides of the highway were closed. The lanes have since reopened yet delays remain as of 5:20 p.m.

Delays are being reported all the way back to the Interstate 287 merge on the southbound side and into Branchburg on Old York Road on the northbound side.

Drivers should avoid the area.
