The effort will help entice more substitute teachers and staff to the Bridgewater-Raritan School District amid a nationwide shortage.
BRIDGEWATER, NJ — In an effort to entice more substitute teachers and staff to the Bridgewater-Raritan Regional School District amid a nationwide teacher shortage, pay rates have increased for 2023.
"Our substitute teachers are dedicated professionals who serve our district by ensuring the continuity of a safe and caring learning environment when one of our staff members is absent," said Dr. Daniel Fonder, the Assistant Superintendent for Personnel for the school district. "I am thankful for the commitment of all district staff and wanted to take a moment to recognize our substitutes while announcing the new rates of pay."
The pay rates went into effect on Jan. 1, 2023:
