Pedestrian Hit By Car While Walking On Route 202/206 In Bridgewater

The pedestrian was hospitalized with injuries from the crash that happened early on Monday morning.

BRIDGEWATER, NJ — A pedestrian was hit by a car while walking on Route 202/206 early on Monday morning in Bridgewater.

On Dec. 11 at 1:27 a.m., a crash was reported on Route 202/206 North near the intersection of Route 22.

The pedestrian, who has not been identified, was walking north in the right lane of Route 202/206 North when he was hit, said Bridgewater Police Traffic Safety Officer Joseph Greco.

The vehicle involved in the crash was a 2014 Toyota Corolla, driven by Josephine Bockarie, 33, of Somerville. Bockarie was driving north in the right lane of Route 202/206, said Greco.

Members of the Somerville Volunteer Rescue Squad as well as Robert Wood Johnson Hospital Paramedics also came to render aid.

The unidentified pedestrian was taken to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick to be treated for his injuries.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation and no charges have been filed at this time.
