Suspect Caught Following Search In Watchung

Watchung Police sent out an alert warning the public to keep an eye out for a man in the area of Stirling Road on Thursday morning.

WATCHUNG, NJ — A suspect wanted in an unknown incident by Watchung police on Thursday has been caught.

"Watchung Police have a suspect in custody related to alert distributed this morning concerning police activity on Stirling Road," said the police in a follow-up alert around 3:25 p.m.

Police activity was first reported on Stirling Road in Watchung on Thursday around 7:55 a.m.

The suspect was described as a 6-foot-tall white man wearing a brown shirt, dark pants, and a gray jacket.

Due to the sensitive nature of the crime, police did not disclose any further information.
