QuickChek's Community Giving Tops $6.2 Million
Support from the fresh convenience market chain benefits food banks, children and veterans.

The Whitehouse Station, NJ-based fresh convenience chain’s charitable donations totaled $299,845 in 2020 despite the challenging conditions brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic, raising its community support to more than $6.2 million since 2009.
“These donations represent our ongoing efforts and longtime commitment to supporting the local communities we serve,” said QuickChek CEO Dean Durling. “We wish to thank our loyal customers for their charitable spirit and our team members for driving our efforts to be a good neighbor, enabling us to have a positive impact in the areas where we have store locations.”

QuickChek enjoys a long history of community giving. With each new store opening, the company donates money to one of the many local organizations that helps keep that community going.
Current fundraising efforts benefit the needs of area children, families and military veterans.
QuickChek’s support of local food banks’ efforts to help feed hungry families throughout the region could not be more important. More than 1.2 million people in the Garden State are food insecure, including nearly 400,000 children, according to the Community FoodBank of New Jersey. Food banks on Long Island have reported a nearly 50% increase in their food distribution since the start of the pandemic. Food pantries and distributors have seen how food insecurity in the Mid-Hudson Valley has continued to grow since this spring's outbreak.
“Our stores have remained open throughout the pandemic as an essential business and as an essential part of our local communities to meet people’s needs for fresh food, household products and services in a safe shopping environment,” said Durling. “As a result of staying open, we have been able to continue our partnership with non-profit groups to help our neighbors during this crisis.”

The iconic c-store chain raised a large portion of its donations through a Coin Drive to assist those who had been affected early by the coronavirus pandemic, raising $93,500 at a critical time for meal programs for children as schools were out and summer camps did not operate in the same manner as they had in the past.
QuickChek also donated $0.25 for every “Thanksgiving Everyday Sub” and “Thanksgiving Everyday Wrap” it sold during the month of November to the Check-Out Hunger fundraising campaign.
Customers also made significant contributions by rounding up their purchases at store checkout counters.
QuickChek executives, support center personnel and local store team members volunteered shifts at various food banks throughout the year, packing more than 31,000 meals to assist thousands of people including veterans and senior citizens in need.
In-store fundraising helped the company raise $109,000 for combat wounded, critically ill and catastrophically injured members of the U.S. Armed Forces as well as help veterans transition into the corporate workplace.
Investment in youth organizations totaled $66,120 in 2020.
Additional community events for 2021 include participating in the upcoming “Cabin Fever Reliever” Scavenger Hunt benefiting the Middlesex Borough Recreation Department.
