Rain Suspends Bridgewater's 9/11 Flag Placement Event
Although the flag placement event was suspended, the remembrance ceremony will still be held on Monday, Sept. 11.
BRIDGEWATER, NJ — Rain and inclement weather have caused Bridgewater to suspend its third annual flag placement event on Saturday in honor of the 2,977 victims and heroes of the 9/11 attacks.
Showers and thunderstorms are forecasted to begin after 1 p.m. on Friday and continue through Sunday and possibly Monday.
"However, we welcome all residents to attend our solemn remembrance ceremony on the morning of Monday, September 11th, where we will honor the victims and heroes with the reading of names and moments of silence," wrote the township.

The remembrance ceremony will begin promptly at 8:30 a.m.
If there is no rain, the ceremony will be held at the Municipal 9-11 Memorial on the Garretson Road side of the Municipal Complex. If it is raining, the remembrance ceremony will be held inside the Municipal Courtroom.

Bridgewater Township lost six residents during the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11, 2001.
Those residents include:
- Evan J. Baron, Bridgewater, World Trade Center
- Noel J. Foster, Bridgewater, World Trade Center
- Thomas H. Polhemus, Bridgewater, World Trade Center
- Ronald Tartaro, Bridgewater, World Trade Center
- Lance Richard Tumulty, Bridgewater, World Trade Center
Evan J. Baron, 38 - An energy futures specialist for Carr Future, Baron, 38, traveled around the country a lot, but always found time to spend time with his family. His love for golf never got in the way of his family time with his wife Jeannine and their two children, Ethan and Julia, according to Legacy.
Noel J. Foster, 40 - A vice president with Aon Corporation in the World Trade Center, Foster, 40, lagged behind the rest of those evacuating the building to help his collage with a broken leg get down the stairs. He is survived by his wife of 10 years, Nancy and his daughters, Megan and Nicole, according to Legacy.
Thomas H. Polhemus, 39 - A computer systems analyst and programmer for Accenture, he was working at a client site in the World Trade Center on Sept. 11. He had a wife, Barbara, whom he loved utterly, according to Legacy.
Ronald Tartaro, 38 - An executive vice president at Fred Alger Management in the World Trade Center, Tartaro, 39, and his wife Karen were avid tandem bike riders. The couple would often bring their three children along with them on bike rides, according to Legacy.
Lance Richard Tumulty, 32 - A manager of distressed trading operations for Eurobrokers Inc. in the World Trade Center, Tumulty, 32, was captain of the Matawan High School football team before he graduated in 1987. “He was never in a bad mood,” His mother, Diane Tumulty, told the Star Ledger. Alison Marie Wildman, 30 - She loved her job as a stockbroker and enjoyed working on the 92nd floor of the North Tower of the World Trade Center. She is survived by her parents and three brothers, Arthur, Robert and Richard, a sister, Jill Saladino, and her grandmother Beatrice Wildman of Manchester, N.H., according to Legacy.
