Raritan Double Homicide Suspect Pleads Guilty To Murder

RARITAN, NJ — A Raritan man pleaded guilty to two counts of first-degree murder in connection with a double homicide of a mother and daughter in the borough in December 2015.
Ramon Cadiz, 53 of First Avenue, Raritan Borough faces a minimum mandatory term of 30 years imprisonment and a maximum term of 75 years imprisonment on each murder count.
Police responded to 46 First Ave. in Raritan on Dec. 11 at 3:15 p.m. after neighbors called regarding concerns for the welfare of the occupants of the residence.

Inside police found the dead body of 15-year-old Kim Streath on the second floor master bedroom and the dead body of Sandra Guiseppe, 51, on the first floor of the home, according to police.
Guiseppe is the mother of Streath and was Cadiz's girlfriend at the time.

Neighbors have reported the mother and daughter were planning on leaving Cadiz prior to the incident and claimed he beat the women to death with a hammer.
Detectives from the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes and Crime Scene Units responded to the scene with the Raritan Borough Police Department identified Cadiz as a suspect following an investigation.
A statewide police broadcast was issued for Cadiz and the vehicle he was believed to be driving.
He was located just before midnight on Dec. 12, 2015 in North Brunswick parked in a secluded area on Petunia Drive in the Colony Oaks Apartment Complex. At approximately 4 a.m. Somerset County detectives approached the vehicle and found Cadiz sleeping in the front driver's seat. He was arrested without incident.
Cadiz does have a prior history of being a convicted killer in connection with a 1991 murder in Cumberland County.
Cadiz is lodged in the Somerset County Jail, his bail having been revoked by Judge Reed after the guilty pleas were entered.
Sentencing is scheduled for Nov. 16.
