Raritan Police Investigate Valentine's Day Car Theft, Burglaries

All of the vehicles were left unlocked, Raritan Police said.

RARITAN, NJ — Raritan Police are investigating the theft and burglaries of multiple vehicles, which were all unlocked, on Valentine's Day.

Sometime between 2 and 2:30 a.m. on Feb. 14 a 2016 Mazda CX5 was stolen and several motor vehicles were burglarized, Raritan Police said.

The burglaries happened in the area of Thompson Street and Anderson Street between the train tracks and Sherman Avenue.

Several cars in the 200 block of Sherman Avenue were also burglarized. All of the vehicles
were left unlocked, police said.

"Residents are reminded to remove any valuables from their vehicles and make sure they are locked," police said.

If any residents have surveillance footage of suspicious activity during the specific times mentioned, they are encouraged to contact Detective Robert Sinopoli at 908-725-6700 Ext. 18.
