Report Of Man With Gun Prompts Vehicle Search In Bridgewater
The police search of the vehicle was conducted on Tuesday in the Wawa parking lot off Union Avenue(Route 28) in Bridgewater.

BRIDGEWATER, NJ — A report of a man with a gun prompted a vehicle search in Bridgewater on Tuesday.
On Aug. 27, there was a disturbance at the Delta Gas Station on Finderne Avenue.
Bridgewater Police got a call regarding a man with a gun and they put out a description of the vehicle to surrounding jurisdictions, said Bridgewater Police Chief John Mitzak.

Officers then found the vehicle in the Wawa parking lot off Union Avenue and conducted a consent search of the vehicle for a gun. No gun was found, said Mitzak.
The "investigation determined that the owner of the vehicle had a cell phone attached to his hip and the gas attendant mistook the phone to be a gun," said Mitzak.
